Shin kong Mitsukoshi – Halloween Art Work

This Halloween I was invited to create some SPOOKY images for the SHIN KONG MITSUKOSHI Department store in Taipei.

Shin Kong Mitsukoshi is Taiwan’s most fashionable and popular department store with 19 stores in seven cities including Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Taichung, Chaiyi, Tainan, and Kaohsiung.

The work was exhibited with two other artists Kiwi and Rainwood all of us represented by Sevenapex art agency in Taiwan.

The work was created for Halloween celebrations for the Mitsukoshi visitors centre where children’s activities were also being held.

My Haunted house images was blown up and parts of it made 3D to use for the children and families to have their

photos taken.

Digswell Fenners – The Big Draw

THE BIG DRAW:

Over the weekend Fenners in Letchworth hosted a variety of free workshops as part of the Letchworth arts Festival.
There were a wide variety of activities aimed at children and their parents and we had a great number of lovely people passing through our doors over the two days.

There was Skull painting

Day of the Dead and carnival mask making

Fabulous glass mural designs

Experimenting with Natural objects

and many many more activities including ceramics, textiles and drawing.

Launch Party – for Sas and Yosh

So last night was the official LAUNCH of ‘Sas and Yosh’ and we are both walking round today thinking WOW we actually have our own business! All very exciting and we can’t wait to see where it takes us.

We had a great turn out for the event and lots of people came to drink wine, see our new range and make new friends and potential connections!

We had our very FIRST sale to lovely ESME and then proceeded to sell out of our ‘Oriental Spa’ naked lady Tea towel. We can’t imagine why it was so popular! Must have been something in the wine!

Halloween at Mitukoshi Tianmu department store

Over the Halloween holiday the Mitukoshi Tianmu Dept store in Taiwan is holding a Halloween exhibition and putting on activities for visitors.

I along with two other artists KIWI and RAINWOOD from the SEVENAPEX agency have created Halloween inspired artwork specially for the store. We hope everyone enjoys our spooky space!!!

Artist Sarah Bellisario to create celebration mural for the Neonatal Unit

We are delighted to announce that Hitchin-based illustrator, Sarah Bellisario is working with us and the hospital to develop a large scale piece of art along the corridor which leads to the Lister Neonatal Unit.

Our aim is to transform the long, blank wall, which currently greets parents on the approach to the neontal unit into a stunning celebration of the lives of the babies cared for there, past, present and future. Parents will be invited to have their child or children’s name(s) added to the mural design in return for a small donation to the neonatal unit.

Sarah is an established artist and Digswell Arts Trust fellow whose work features magical, fairy tale landscapes and detailed, whimsical figures such as the group shown below. The Families Group committee loved the beautiful design Sarah put forward in her bid for the work, and this will now be refined in conjunction with staff and parents.

We are hoping to fund the project through a mixture of grants and sponsorship so that the project can raise as much money as possible for the neonatal unit. If you know of any businesses or local organisations which might be willing to contribute, please let us know at admin@listerneonatalunitfamiliesgroup.org. You can also use this email address to register your interest in having your child’s name feature in the mural – we will then keep you updated as the project progresses.

We have been working very hard creating designs and lovely things for ‘Sas and Yosh’ and will be launching our new website in the next few weeks. To be followed by a ‘Launch Party’ in Oct.

We will be offering the chance for people to pre order designed items such as wallpaper, tea towels, cards and prints from Sept to be delightfully delivered to your door after the official launch of our shop in Oct.

I’ve started a new design project called ‘ Sas and Yosh ‘ with my friend and fabulous artist Yoshie.

We’ve been having fun collaborating on new artwork. Creating new designs and illustrations, and are looking forward to publishing our lovely paper and textile products soon !
