Empowering the Shadows – Reclaiming the Cunning Woman

An exploration into the role magical objects and artifacts play in transformation and healing through the practice of esoteric female healers and the use of magical consciousness.

This study aims to explore female healers and their ritual and practice from both a historical and contemporary context through art-based research, sociocultural anthropology, auto-ethnography and participation research, considering the materiality of magical curative objects and artifacts and the part they play in transformation and healing through symbolic engagement.
